Overview

Making friends, joining a group, or navigating a conversation doesn’t come naturally to every child. Our Social Skills Training program helps children develop the communication, emotional, and behavioral tools they need to build healthy, meaningful relationships—with peers, teachers, and family.

We teach social skills through structured, interactive lessons that help children connect, collaborate, and thrive.

What Is Social Skills Training?

Social Skills Training (SST) helps children and teens learn to:

  • Start and maintain conversations
  • Read body language and social cues
  • Manage conflict and rejection
  • Take turns and share
  • Recognize and regulate emotions
  • Practice empathy and flexible thinking

These skills are taught through modeling, games, group practice, video modeling, and real-time feedback.

Who Can Benefit?

Social Skills Training supports children with:

  • ADHD
  • Autism
  • Anxiety
  • Speech/language delays
  • Shyness or social withdrawal
  • Aggression or inappropriate social behavior
  • Difficulties understanding social boundaries

Even children without diagnoses can benefit if they have trouble making or keeping friends, or if social interaction causes distress.

What Our Program Includes

We offer both individual and small-group sessions, depending on the child’s needs and goals.

In Individual Sessions:

  • Personalized instruction and practice
  • Roleplaying real-life social situations
  • Coaching in emotional expression and self-regulation

In Group Sessions:

  • Peer-to-peer interaction in a structured, supportive setting
  • Turn-taking games, collaborative tasks, and feedback
  • Real-time correction and encouragement

We also help with school-based scenarios, such as:

  • Working in teams
  • Handling bullying or exclusion
  • Managing group assignments or classroom behavior

Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) Focus

Our program also teaches children how to:

  • Understand others’ perspectives
  • Build resilience
  • Deal with peer pressure
  • Communicate assertively, not aggressively

These SEL skills contribute to long-term success in friendships, academics, and emotional well-being.
